what is kpv?

KPV is a tripeptide composed of lysine, valine, and proline, corresponding to the C-terminal fragment (residues 11–13) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It is the smallest sequence retained from that parent peptide and is widely used as a compact reference compound in cellular signaling research, where its short chain length makes it convenient for controlled in-vitro work.

In the laboratory, KPV is studied in models of inflammatory signaling, including work on NF-κB pathway activity and cytokine expression in cultured cells, as well as in melanocortin-receptor and receptor-independent uptake research. Because reproducibility in this work depends on knowing exactly what is in the vial, verve manufactures KPV in the United States, screens every batch by HPLC to a 99%+ purity standard, and publishes a batch-level certificate of analysis.

common research applications

KPV is supplied strictly for laboratory research use only. Reported research contexts include:

  • Inflammatory-signaling research models (NF-κB pathway studies)
  • Cytokine-expression research in cultured cells
  • Melanocortin-receptor and alpha-MSH fragment research
  • Epithelial and mucosal-barrier research models
  • Structure–activity studies of short peptide fragments

purity, testing & COA

Every batch of verve KPV is synthesized and vial-filled in the United States and screened by an independent, accredited laboratory for identity, purity, and contaminants, with analysis by HPLC and, where appropriate, mass spectrometry. Products are manufactured to a 99%+ purity standard where stated, and an endotoxin-tested option is available for many compounds.

That lab report is the certificate of analysis. Match the batch code printed on your vial to the row in our COA library and you're reading the exact report for the exact vial in your hand. Every order includes a free downloadable COA, damage protection in transit, and full US tracking. Orders placed Monday–Friday ship by 2pm CT, free over $100.

kpv, frequently asked

What is KPV?

KPV is a tripeptide (lysine-valine-proline) corresponding to the C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH. Verve supplies it as a research compound for laboratory use only, not for human or veterinary use.

What is KPV studied for in research?

In in-vitro and pre-clinical models it is used as a reference compound in inflammatory-signaling, cytokine-expression, and melanocortin-pathway research. Verve makes no claims about use in humans or animals.

How does KPV relate to alpha-MSH?

KPV is the terminal three-residue sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, which is why researchers use it to isolate the contribution of that fragment from the full-length parent peptide in laboratory models.

How pure is Verve's KPV, and is a COA included?

It is manufactured in the US to a 99%+ purity standard and verified by HPLC on every batch. Every order includes a downloadable batch-level COA, matched to the batch code on your vial.
