SNAP-8 is a synthetic acetylated octapeptide, an elongated analog of acetyl hexapeptide-3 (Argireline) extended by two additional residues. Its sequence is modeled on the N-terminal region of SNAP-25, one of the proteins that assembles the SNARE complex, which makes it a convenient synthetic tool for studying that assembly in vitro.
